Farmer’s Markets
Visiting the local farmer’s markets is a great activity to do with the whole family, and there’s no shortage of them in Orlando. Visiting a farmer’s market is a great way to get some fresh air while enjoying the outdoors.
Lake Eola
Every Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
One of the most popular and largest farmer’s markets in Orlando is the farmer’s market at Lake Eola. Here, you can shop for seasonal fresh produce, a wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants, artwork, and other handmade craft items. This farmer’s market is also dog-friendly, so your fur child can join in on the fun, too!
Audobon Community Market
Every Monday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
The Audobon Community Market takes place in the Audobon Park neighborhood, in front of Stardust Coffee. It specializes in local food and produce. The market has everything from milk, eggs, and bread to honey, seafood, and meats. On some evenings, you may even experience some live music. This market is also pet-friendly!
Lake Nona
Every Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Check out one of Orlando’s most progressive up-and-coming neighborhoods, Lake Nona. The Lake Nona farmer’s market specializes in produce, plants, and specialty foods. It’s also conveniently located near many of Lake Nona’s trendy restaurants.
Indoor Exploration
Crayola Experience
This fun, colorful experience is located in the Florida Mall. It has dozens of hands-on, creative activities for your family to enjoy. The Crayola Experience helps both kids and adults explore their creativity through art and technology.
Orlando Science Center
Not only is the Orlando Science Center a fun place to explore, but it’s also educational so the whole family can learn a thing or two. The museum has many interactive exhibits. Explore the historic world of dinosaurs at Dino Digs or see live animals in their diverse habitats at Nature Works.
Family Fun Day at the Mennello Museum
Family Fun Day is a free event at the museum that happens every second Sunday of the month. Along with your free admission, you also receive a free miniature fine art project and free docent touring. Every month, Family Funday focuses on a different theme based on the current exhibition. The fine art projects and museum tours are available between 12:00 and 2:30 pm.
Family Films
Peanut Butter Matinees at Enzian Theater
Catch a family-friendly film at Enzian’s Peanut Butter Matinees. They usually occur on the fourth Sunday of the month, and they’re always free for children under the age of 12.
Popcorn Flicks in the Park
Bring some blankets, a picnic, or snacks and cozy up to a movie with the fam at the beautiful Central Park in Winter Park. These movie nights are usually held around sunset on the Second Thursday of each month. The park features classic films for the family and is free to the public.
Movie Night at Leu Gardens
Another great location to experience an outdoor movie is Leu Gardens. You may also bring a blanket to lay on the lawn with a picnic or snacks. Alcohol is permitted for adults.
Movie Mondays at À La Cart
À La Cart is a unique dining experience featuring a variety of food trucks that serve some of the best street food in Central Florida. There is a covered seating area where they serve a variety of beers on tap. Every Monday night, they screen movies on their back lawn. So set up your lawn chairs or blankets, grab some street food, and enjoy!
