Doctor Phillips is a suburban neighborhood with many upscale residential subdivisions. Although suburban, the neighborhood is nearby a centrally located strip on Sand Lake that has many businesses, shopping destinations, and professional services. It’s a great location for families with many things to do for all ages.

This neighborhood is very close to the Universal theme parks. Along with Universal and Islands of Adventure, it’s also close to Sea World, Aquatica, and Volcano Bay. Water parks are perfect for combatting the Florida heat.

Another way to escape the Florida heat is to enjoy these fun indoor attractions. Dr. Phillip’s is nearby to International Drive which has countless options for things to do, including many indoor options. You can enjoy an escape room, visit the Sea Life Orlando Aquarium, or explore Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. You may also want to check out Ripley’s Believe it or Not located inside a building that appears to be crooked. Another option is to venture to Top Golf, a sprawling entertainment venue with a high-tech driving range. Drinks and food are also available for purchase.
Go Thrill-Seeking

If you’re an adrenaline junkie, you’ll love the handful of thrill rides located on I-drive. There’s the Orlando Slingshot, a thrill ride that catapults riders over 390 feet vertically into the air at 100 mph. Get a great aerial view of the city while riding on the Orlando Starflyer, the city’s tallest swing ride. For something at a lighter speed, take a ride on the Orlando Eye, a 400 ft. tall giant Ferris wheel also offering views of Orlando. Not into heights? Consider taking family or friends to ride go-karts.
Spend an Evening in City Walk

Right before the entrance to the Universal theme parks, you’ll find City Walk. It’s home to a wide collection of restaurants, bars, nightlife, and entertainment options. It includes a large movie theater, mini-golf with two themes to choose from, and shopping. One unique spot is called Rising Star where you can watch people sing karaoke or sign up and take the stage yourself with a live band accompanying you.

Nearby Dr. Phillip’s is a centrally located strip that has a wonderful selection of restaurants — both upscale and casual. Orlandoans often refer to this row of restaurants as “Restaurant Row”. There are many diverse options from Italian to Mediterranean.
