MOVING CHECKLIST
MOVING GOES SMOOTHER WHEN YOU FOLLOW A PLAN.
Here is an easy checklist that will help you plan out your move
two months before all the way to moving day.

- Go through your things and get rid of anything you no longer need or want
- Research moving companies, collect quotes from each one, and personally talk to them
- Organize everything in a binder – receipts, quotes, estimates, and your to-do list
- Begin packing up anything you don’t use on a regular basis, such as seasonal clothes
- Choose your mover and make arrangements for moving day
- Begin packing up the rest of your house
- Make note of any items that will need special insurance, such as jewelry and other valuables
- Keep an inventory of everything by numbering the boxes & making a list of what their contents are and what room they will be assigned
- Submit change of address forms (billing, credit cards, driver license, insurance, etc)
- Change address on publications such as newspapers and magazines
- Register kids at new schools and transfer any important documents needed
- Arrange the day off from work if necessary
- Alert family, friends and other important parties of your new address
- Forward medical records to new physicians
- Clean out your safety deposit box
- Confirm the arrangements with your moving company
- Make arrangements for your pets and kids for moving day
- Refill prescriptions
- Put together a box of essentials for every member of the family, including things like:
- toilet paper
- toiletries
- cutlery and utensils
- and a few days worth of clothes
- Verify that your movers have the right addresses
- Put together a cooler of refreshments and snacks for you and your family/friends involved in the move
